Oh, the stories John has about this building. Luckily, he is the captain, so he has to deal with customs, not me.

Motoring New River

by sarah hair Email

in Fort Lauderdale, motoring down the New River looking at all the mansions.

Jungle Queen

by sarah hair Email

Bearing down on us, here comes the Jungle Queen! This monstrosity waked us four times daily for the past month as it herded its cattle up and down the river and past our dock.

"The best thing about living on a boat is... You don't have to pay any taxes!" They would blurt over the loudspeaker every time they approached the bridge and drove past the docks. Wow, that is hilarious. I had no idea that I don't have to pay taxes. I wonder if they know that the docks are run by the city of Fort Lauderdale, and we pay transient taxes on top of sales taxes? Well, more than anyone on that boat pays, never-the-less.

Under the Andrews Bridge

Scary!

Approaching Andrews Bridge

by sarah hair Email

Motoring up the New River, there are several lift bridges. This one features a single span that lifts, so it is more scary than the double spans, since on those, you can shoot the middle instead of hugging the North side.

Coming up to the Andrews lift bridge on the New River in Fort Lauderdale. You can see the butterfly building on the north side of the river.

Trumpet Fairy Mosiac

We all stopped to check out this mosaic, which features superfluous boobie power, where the boobie fairy has her jugs exposed to defeat the evil.

On the far right of the mosaic, Malia noticed an awesome "Trumpet Fairy" which has both wings and a trumpet to help it in its quest.

Pirate Republic

The Pirate Republic Bar has a swimming pool and a special vegetarian dish that the owners added to the menu just for us!

We spent many days here keeping cool in their pool both this trip and our last trip through Fort Lauderdale.

John on Riverwalk

At the park, John sports his bicycle, helmet, and trailer. It is a way of life.
