The ruby necklace

by maddielou Email

Once upon a time, there was a girl named Melony. She was making her bed and all of a sudden her mother called "Melony you're late for breakfast."

"Coming mother" she called back. As soon as she got downstairs she asked "Can I go to the market and grab some bread for toast?"

"Sure Melony." her mother said. Melony walked to the market to get some bread and she passed an old man selling jewelry.

"Can I help you young lady?" the old man croaked.

"No thanks." Melony said. As she walked away she decided to get a necklace for her mother. "How much for this necklace?" she asked the old man. She was holding a red ruby necklace with a gold wire lining.

"For that just enough for a small meal." The man replied. Melony got the necklace and bread so she headed home.

"Melony where have you been?" Asked her mother as she got home.

"I was choosing a necklace for you, look its a ruby."

"Take it back right this instant." her mother said.

"Why?" Melony asked "Its beautiful."

"Look there is an opening in the ruby" said her mother. "Lets open it."

As Melony opened the ruby there was a message in the back. "It says to wish for any three things and your wish will come true." Melony said "But you can only do it three times a day and only if your wish is not for evil." Melony and her mother wished for more money and they got it.

From that day on Melony and her mother lived happy and rich.

The Bahamas

by maddielou Email

On the way to the Bahamas we watched Aquamarine and it took about two hours. We were almost there when the waves got choppy and everyone felt sick. As soon as we got there we tried to dock, Max had some trouble getting in the slip so we just docked on the side where he was used to docking. We all got our swim suits on and went to the pool in the marina. After we swam in the pool for about three hours,
we got out and Max showed us the golf cart he got. We all went back inside and ate some yogurt and hummus with chips. Then we went for a ride to the infinity pool to see Spenser's friends Soffie, Sarah, Masson, Aieden, Amber, and Kailee. After we swam in the pool with the other kids, Masson, Aieden, Spenser, Malia, and I went boogie boarding in the Ocean by the pool. Then we made crab houses and went back to the boat and ate some more snacks then went to a bon fire with the other kids and got eaten by bugs. After the bon fire we were all sandy so we went back to the pool and rinsed off then went to bed.

When we woke up in the morning we had some fruit loops and soy milk for breakfast. Then we went to the other boat and jumped off. We then boogie boarded to the sand bar across the channel and looked at rocks then we boarded back. We went to the pool to get the sand off and played in the water for a while then we went to another beach in the old Bimini town and got our hair braided then we went swimming in the water and looked at conchs and fish in the water. Then we went back to the boat and had some macaroni and carrots for dinner, then we watched jurassic park and went to bed.

When we woke up we packed up all our stuff and loaded it on to the other boat. Then we went swimming for an hour and ate some grilled cheese and got on the boat. When we got to where we were going we all got out and got our snorkeling gear and swam over to the sunken ship. Then we looked around the ship and thought it was pretty cool. We swam back and had some crackers and water then we started moving again. We went to Gun Cay and found some hermit crabs and Spenser kept two. Then we played around the beach and got going. After the boat started moving we watched jurassic park 3 and got back to Ft. Lauderdale and dropped everybody off at the houses then we took a cab back to Spenser's house and went to bed.
